Mabel told this story to her husband and they both agreed that it was the shadow of her deceased mother.

Mrs. Mabel and her husband, Mr. Jim, were also invited to participate in the television show World of Strange Powers in 1985. There, experts conducted research and dissected the photo to see if it was a phenomenon.

Dr. Steve Gull and Tim Newton used computer software created in the 1980s to examine the photo.

In 2015, Blake learned about Mabel’s photo, starting with the car that Jim drove.

Blake affirmed that the results showed some typical details of the double exposure technique, especially the scarf of `Mabel’s late mother` as if it encroached on the frame of the car.

After a period of research, Blake also came to the conclusion that there were no ghosts appearing in the photo.
