Arsenal lost striker Gabriel Jesus at the beginning of the new season

`This is very bad news for us. Jesus is regaining his peak form, shown by the way he played in the Barca match. But now, we have lost him for a few weeks,` coach Mikel Arteta said at the press conference.

The Spanish coach said Jesus had been feeling uncomfortable for the past few weeks, and the coaching staff felt the best way was to put the Brazilian striker on the operating table to completely resolve the problem and help him return to health in time.

Arteta also revealed that Bukayo Saka did not play due to illness, and Oleksandr Zinchenko will soon recover and return to training.

At Emirates Stadium yesterday, Arsenal did not enter the game well and allowed Monaco to concede a goal from Youssouf Fofana’s close-range header.

Arteta admitted that Arsenal had a difficult match because they were not at their best condition and performance when constantly traveling and returning from the US tour.
