Marca newspaper: ‘Mbappe signs contract with Real until 2029’

Marca said the two sides finished negotiating and signed the contract two weeks ago, meaning Mbappe will become a Real player from July 1.

On February 13, the French striker met PSG president Nasser Al Khelaifi to inform him of his decision to leave when his contract expires on June 30.

Striker Kylian Mbappe thanked PSG fans after Dortmund’s 1-1 draw at Westfalen Stadium in the final round of Group F Champions League on December 13, 2023.

The conversation took place in a cordial atmosphere, because Al Khelaifi also determined that it would be difficult to hold on to Mbappe after the 25-year-old striker announced that he would not renew last summer.

In the first weeks of January 2024, when Mbappe’s contract with PSG entered the last six months, Real contacted the French striker to find out if the agreed plan in the summer of 2023 was still valid and

Negotiations went smoothly because Mbappe accepted a deep reduction in income to join Real.

Convincing Mbappe to deeply reduce his salary and bribery fee is a great success for Real, in the context of them having to tighten spending and prioritize resources to cover the increasing costs of maintaining and upgrading the Bernabeu stadium.

Every member of Real wants to sign Mbappe to strengthen the team, from Carlo Ancelotti – the coach who has just extended his contract until 2026, to the players.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Mbappe will not take the number 7 shirt that belongs to idol Cristiano Ronaldo and is worn by Vinicius, unless the Brazilian striker leaves or actively changes his shirt number.
