Chelsea has not yet escaped the tangle of trouble.

A victory in Germany last night will help Chelsea win early tickets because before this series of matches they were top of Group E with 8 points.

The situation in Group E became even more complicated when last night Valencia won 7-0 against Genk to revive their hope of advancing.

In the final match, Chelsea must either draw goalless or defeat Valencia to qualify for the next round.

In terms of results, this is clearly another disappointment for Chelsea – the team has received all sorts of criticism for its recent poor form (having lost 3 of the last 4 Premier League matches).

However, in terms of gameplay, Chelsea somewhat shows optimistic signs.

It wasn’t until the first half ended that Chelsea suffered its first heart-stopping situation.

After the break, Sturridge continued to inspire and he himself delivered a centimeter-accurate pass to Drogba in the 48th minute. The away team’s striker tried to escape Friedrich’s clutches before leaning back and kicking the ball into the far corner to open the score.

A minute later Chelsea could almost have increased the score, but Frank Lampard headed the ball right into the hands of goalkeeper Bernd Leno.

However, that did not happen, and they let Leverkusen take back the match.

Chelsea was then forced to attack again and had a chance to win again, but Drogba missed the target with a volley.

Tragedy struck the English team in the first minute of injury time, when Friedrich jumped high and hit the underside of the crossbar into the net, sealing a 2-1 victory for Bayer.
