The Premier League star was suspended for 8 months for betting

This suspension takes effect immediately, meaning Toney will miss Brentford’s last two matches of the season – traveling to Tottenham Stadium on May 20 and then hosting Man City at home in the final round on May 28.

Toney will be banned until January 16, 2024 and fined 50,000 pounds (about more than 60,000 USD) after admitting to violating FA betting rules.

Toney is the third best scoring striker in the Premier League this season with 20 goals.

Toney is accused of 262 breaches of FA Rule E8 between February 25, 2017 and January 23, 2021.

The 27-year-old striker has the right to appeal.

Toney later wrote on social media that he was `disappointed` with the suspension but would not comment further until the written reason was announced.
